shoutouts

shoutouts vs GroupGreeting

Looking for a GroupGreeting alternative?

shoutouts is a group card site where the first card costs nothing, nobody who signs makes an account, and the recipient opens a card rather than turning pages. Three things set it apart from GroupGreeting; the rest of this page is the numbers, and the places GroupGreeting is ahead.

$0

A card that costs nothing

GroupGreeting's only price for a card is $5.99, paid before anyone is invited to sign. A shoutouts card is free: every design, every opening, words and doodles from as many people as sign it. $7.99 only when people should add photos and GIFs.

A reveal

Opened, not paged through

A GroupGreeting card is pages the recipient turns. A shoutouts card opens with a tap on a gift, a piñata or an envelope, the occasion fills the screen, and the messages arrive a screen at a time.

On its own

Birthdays and anniversaries open their own cards

GroupGreeting reminds you of the date, and a plan can clone one card to a list. A shoutouts workspace opens each card itself from your roster, sends the team one link on Monday, and delivers it in Slack as a DM.

Questions

Is shoutouts cheaper than GroupGreeting?
For a card with words and doodles, yes: free here, $5.99 there. For a card with photos and GIFs, no: $7.99 here, $5.99 there. For a team it depends on how many cards you send. 100 cards a year is $399 at GroupGreeting and $359.88 for a year of Team month to month ($299.90 paid yearly), while at 50 cards a year their Grove pack costs less.
Do people need an account to sign?
Not here and not there: GroupGreeting's FAQ says a name is enough. What differs is who pays, and when. A GroupGreeting card is bought before the signers are invited; a shoutouts card is free to start and free to send, and paying is optional.
Can I move my team over from GroupGreeting?
Bring your roster as a CSV and birthdays and work anniversaries start opening their own cards. Cards you already sent stay at GroupGreeting for a year from delivery, with their PDF to keep.
